We couldn't locate one in our area, so I set out in search on the web. One person I ordered it for had previously had one and used it for years until it eventually burned out. Thank you Amazon as well as the vendor of this fantastic product. I ordered 2 of these for Christmas gifts. Afraid they wouldn't get here in time, but delivery was speedy and recipients were delighted.
There are plenty of small appliance web sites that sell replacement parts if needed. If you can find one, BUY IT. Just wanted to share the info for anyone else that is interested in this mixer. Had to enter some type of star rating to be able to post this.I just called Braun and was told the company will not be making appliances anymore. They are only making shavers.
Its many attachments make it versatile--I use it to make creamed soup right in the pot or to process small quantities, like a few cloves of garlic. I'm glad Braun still sells this model.
Even though I now own a KitchenAid stand mixer, I keep this around and use it when the mixer's already running or I just need to make up a quick cake batter or cookie dough. Cook's Illustrated just rated it highly recommended, 2nd place after a more expensive KitchenAid model.
I bought this mixer more than 3 years ago while I was in cooking school, just starting my classical desserts class. Best of all, I was able to buy it for $30 on sale at one of those big home goods stores.
If you have troubles with a new one, I think it's well worth replacing. It has the power to work light bread doughs with its dough hooks.
It's quieter than other mixers I've used and owned.
Thanks so much for anyone who knows. I'm in desperate need of a replacement. - Becky Is this mixer still being produced. I got my first one in 1998 as a wedding gift and it finally quit on me.
i havent used it yet for making bread so i need to do that before giving my opinion on that aspect of the mixer. i love that it came with the chopper adapter. its easy to use and rinses out easily. I actually returned my kitchen aid mixer and bought this from amazon because it seemed more practical for its uses. i guess i just dont make bread as much as i thought i would, which is also why i am glad i returned my kitchen aid. this does it all and i dont have to sacrifice cabinet space for it. i got rid of my manual pampered chef chopper and electric processor too. my handheld beater had burned up on me and this was a perfect replacement.
